When asked by Microsoft Canada, 'How would
you advertise us?,' CMN's response was, "We don't know how or even
if you should advertise - that's not how we do business. How we do
business is we first build a plan based on what we call a 'Chicken
Test'. 'Have you heard of the Chicken Test? It's an interesting
story……"
Norman began his career in the printing
and advertising, public-relations and marketing industry, owning and
operating his own company in the U.K. When he moved to Canada in
1977 he saw an opportunity to provide sound creative and marketing
strategies to the growing technology marketplace.
Norman opened his own full service
agency, developing and implementing marketing action plans for many
high-profile companies in North America such as Microsoft Canada and
Cisco Systems. The company grew quickly within a fast paced and
competitive industry. Recognizing the changing nature of the
industry he worked to develop a new integrated marketing approach.
With the emergence of the Internet and
electronic media he successfully incorporated his new methodology
into providing business-to-business and business-to-consumer
application solutions and user interfaces to various clients,
including ASSET.net.
Norman is a senior level management
professional with over thirty years business experience in creative
direction and marketing implementation strategies. Skilled in the
planning and implementation of advertising, public relations,
marketing, distribution and sales strategies for emerging technology
companies and their related products. Acknowledged as a
pioneer in the field of integrated strategic creative marketing
in the area of consumer marketing campaigns for technology
companies.
Norman is the founder of the Canadian Unix User
Group and the Electronic Desktop Publishing Association. Since
taking his company public in 1997, he has taken the opportunity to
sit on the Advisory Board of several companies.
Mr. Evans is retained by
ASSET (2004 Awarded one of the 50 Best Managed Companies in Canada
for four consecutive years) as the corporate strategist, creative
marketing director working with the executive team and consulting
group on a permanent basis. Mr. Evans' breadth of experience in the
technology sector is a substantial asset to any firm or project he
is involved in.
Norman is the author of several papers
on the subject of the future and impact of the Internet and is
co-author of The Creative Marketer's Handbook - Plan the Work &
Work the Plan © 1989.
Since 1999, Norman Evans is the Chief
Creative Officer of the New Media Broadcast Corporation a Microsoft
TV Content Developer and is poised to launch a seminar series over a
number of Internet/television properties in the near future.

Epstein of the computer marketing business' for' discovering' Bill
Gates for Canada and recognizing the impact Mr. Gates would have on
the world when most of Canada including the Canadian media were
